Former president of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ahmed Yakasai, mni, FPSN, recently marked the second anniversary of his coronation as Kachallan Kano with thanksgiving to God for the strength to uphold the values of dignity, service, and integrity that the title demands.
In a post on his social media handles, Yakasai also expressed gratitude to the Kano state Emirate Council and His Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CON, CNOL, JP for the honour done him.
Describing the title as a noble one and a sacred responsibility, a call to serve, and a deep honour rooted in tradition, history, and the love of his people, Yakasai expressed gratitude to his community for their support.
He said: “Today, as I mark my second anniversary, my heart is full of gratitude. I’m grateful to the Emirate, and His Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CON, CNOL, JP for his trust; to my community for their unwavering support; and to the Almighty for the strength to uphold the values of dignity, service, and integrity that the title demands.
“It has been a journey of reflection, of commitment, and of growing into a role much larger than self. I remain devoted to uplifting the ideals of Kano’s proud heritage while striving to be a bridge between tradition and progress.”
The Kachallan Kano was full of excitement for the completion of schools for married women which he promised to build in honour of his Late Mother – Hajiya Asma’u Ibrahim Yakasai.
“Alhamdulillah, as I am celebrating my 2nd anniversary, the school (Primary, Secondary and Adult Education for married women) I promised to build in honour of my Late Mother – Hajiya Asma’u Ibrahim Yakasai is now completed, ten (10) years after I built in honour of my late father- Alhaji (Mallam) Ibrahim Yunusa Yakasai. Allah shine abin godiya,” Yakasai said.
He prayed that the years ahead continue to bring peace, unity, and prosperity to his people.
“Nagode. Allah ya kara daukaka Kano, Allah ya karawa Sarki Aminu Ado Bayero imani kuma yaja zamanin Sarki.
Allah ya bamu lafiya da zaman lafiya,” Yakasai prayed.
