Ukah, who observed that the theme of this year’s conference of PSN tagged “Pharmacy Industry Contributions to National Development”, could not have come at a more auspicious moment, also said that the ideas to be espoused at the event through paper presentations and commentaries would serve as invaluable contributions to addressing the numerous issues besetting the pharma industry and profession in Nigeria.

According to him, the organisers of the conference deserve commendation for coming up with a thought provoking theme, adding that the country is in dire need of ideas from different professional groups on how to address myriad of challenges confronting the economic development of the nation.

As one of the oldest associations, the KCH boss said that PSN is setting the much needed agenda to move the country forward, and even revolutionising the pharma industry. In following this example, he also appealed to other professional bodies to borrow a leaf from the theme of this year’s annual national conference of the PSN to make their own contributions.

He admonished professional bodies in Nigeria to reflect on the statement credited to renowned scientist, Albert Einstein – which says ‘’we cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them’’.

‘’We owe this nation a duty as professionals to deploy our ideas and expertise in the service of nation building and the time to do that is now that our economy is going through the biggest challenges in the nation’s history’’, Ukah said.

While wishing the membership of PSN nationwide an eventful annual national conference, the KCH boss also called on the authorities in government to partner effectively with professional bodies in the effort to move the country forward.
