Pharmalliance Rewards Deserving Pharmacists at the Panel 10It was an auspicious moment as Pharmalliance recognised Pharm. Deji Osinoiki and other worthy pharmacists with different awards at the recently held retail pharmacy conference “The Panel 10”.
This year’s edition of the conference which is in its 10th year running witnessed the presentation of the Retail Pharmacy Legend Awards to Pharm. Deji Osinoiki who is regarded as a father in the retail pharmacy sector. He was presented the award by Pharm. Jimi Agbaje, who described him as indeed deserving of the recognition.
Pharm. Osinoiki, CEO Deyo Pharmacy, who also served as the chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists between 1988 and 1991 expressed his gratitude for the great honour bestowed upon him. He encouraged pharmalliance to keep up the good work.
Other recipients of awards were Pharm. Wale Oladigbolu, who won the Retail Pharmacy Leadership Award. Pharm Oladigbolu is the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Rivers State Chapter. Pharm. Uchenna Apakama also bagged the Pharmalliance Inspiration Award. Pharm Apakama is the founder/ CEO of PAX Pharmacy. ‘
The event had in attendance many professionals from within and outside the pharmaceutical sector, some of which include: Pharm. Jimi Agbaje, former Chairman of ACPN, one-time governorship aspirant for Lagos State and CEO JayKay Pharmacy; Pharm. Bukky George, CEO HealthPlus; Pharm. Lere Baale, CEO Business School Netherlands; Pharm. Chris and Josephine Ehimen, owners of Nett Pharmacy; and Mr. Hakeem Bello-Osagie, who was the keynote speaker.
Speaking to PharmaTimes at the event, Pharm. Adeshina Opanubi who is the convener of The Panel stated that the conference is dedicated to excellence and celebrating excellence. He described the 10 year journey of the conference as tough and rough; he however explained that they went on a limb believing that they had something of value to offer the pharmaceutical industry and that it is now a phenomenon that has come to stay. He appreciated all those that believed in his vision from the onset and stuck with him through the years.
When asked what next after this 10th edition, Pharm. Shina stated simply that the next step would be to go back to the drawing boards and evaluate their performance at this conference. He stated that the most difficult challenge before them right now is picking the next keynote speaker so that they keep up the pace they have set, of constantly delivering value in all their conferences. He also stated that they have other plans and projects that they currently have on going in the retail pharmacy work place.
