The Director, South-West Zonal Office of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, Mrs. Yejide Oseni, has said inappropriate handling and storage of medicines contribute to the growing cases of kidney problems in the country.
Oseni said, “Drugs can expire before the expiration date given by the manufacturers. Inappropriate storage of drugs can make them expire before the actual time. Some of these badly stored drugs can damage internal organs of people who use them.”
She also warned operators of drugstores against injecting or selling drips and other medicines which do not fall within the list of what they could sell.
