Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and 13 other states reported 362 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency also reported 93 COVID-19 related deaths. 

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Monday.

According to the agency, 362 new cases were recorded from Rivers, Lagos, the FCT and 12 other states.

Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 200 cases, Oyo – 33, Kwara – 30, Akwa Ibom – 24, Ogun -17, Delta – 15, Ekiti – 15, Plateau – 7, Rivers – 7, FCT – 5, Anambra – 3, Edo – 3 while Bayelsa, Kaduna and Kano had a single case each.

The health agency said the 362 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 191,345.

However, 178, 283 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With 93 covid-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,454, NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
