Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and 15 other states reported 674 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, according to figures released on Friday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The health agency also reported eight COVID-19 related deaths.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Friday.
According to the agency, the 674 new cases were recorded from Lagos, the FCT and 15 other states.
Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 355 cases, Rivers – 87, FCT – 38, Ogun – 33, Akwa Ibom -32, Oyo – 32, Edo – 22, Ekiti – 20, Kwara – 17, Delta – 12, Bayelsa – 8, Gombe – 5, Kaduna – 4, Osun – 4, Enugu – 2, Nasarawa – 2 while Plateau reported one new case.
The health agency said the 674 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 185, 267
However, 167, 923 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With eight deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,244, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
