Bleeding Stroke Survivors May Be at Risk of Reoccurrence        - Victoria Haruna A new research finding reveals that people who survive a bleeding stroke, also known as brain haemorrhage, may be at higher risk for another one if they don't control their blood pressure.  A team led by Dr. Jonathan Rosand of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA, has said that: "Survivors are at high risk for recurrence and (the findings) support the hypothesis that aggressive blood pressure control may reduce this risk substantially," The findings are published in the Sept. 1 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Rosand's team tracked outcomes for more than 1,100 people who suffered an intra-cerebral haemorrhage -- a type of stroke in which bleeding occurs directly

Men’s Health Lose Belly Fat and Live a Longer, Healthier Life           by Morgan Nwanguma A popular behaviour we get to observe about a good number of men is the fact that they tend to fasten their belts below their waists. But experts say this is just a ‘ploy’ to escape or avoid the truth about their gut. The part of the alimentary canal lying between the stomach and the anus is the area you really have to pay attention to; if you are in the habit of behaving like we have mentioned above then you had better be advised to begin to attend to this part of your system, experts warn. Truth is your gut needs clearing out. You could begin by grabbing a tape rule and measuring the size of your body just at the level of your belly button or navel. Rejoice if the reading shows a n

Ways To Achieve A Healthy Skin One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems — as well as increase the risk of skin cancer. For the most complete sun protection you can do the followings: Apply sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Apply sunscreen generously, and reapply every two hours — or more often if you’re swimming or perspiring. Be under the shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun’s rays are strongest. Put on protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also consider laundry additives, which give clothing an additional layer of ultraviolet p

Required Nutrition for Successful Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is known to strengthen a child’s immune system; and it could make a world of difference when it comes to surviving some child-killer diseases like Pneumonia etc. Breastfeeding is the best way to provide infants with the nutrients they need. The WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding, starting within one hour after birth until a baby is six months old. Nutritious complementary foods should then be added while continuing to breastfeed for up to two years or beyond. A child’s immune system may be weakened by malnutrition or undernourishment, especially if such a baby is not exclusively breastfed in the first six months of life. A child with weak immunity is a sad child. A malnourished or undernourished baby is susceptible to all sorts of infection, while he or she is also at

The wire may be made of metal, plastic, or resin. It is sewn into the bra fabric and under each cup, from the center gore to under the wearer’s armpit. The wire helps to lift, separate, shape, and support a woman’s breasts. Many different brassiere designs incorporate an underwire, including shelf bras, demi bras, nursing bras, and bras built into other articles of clothing, such as tank tops, dresses and swimsuits. The concept of an underwire can be traced to an 1893 patent that describes a breast supporting device using a rigid plate under the breasts for stability. The modern underwire bra was designed in the 1930
