Amidst Covid-19 scare, mammoth crowd attend Bayelsa musician’s coronation

The event which held in the heartbeat of Yenagoa, the state capital, attracted the fans of Ijaw music from neighbouring Delta and Rivers states. It was gathered that several attempts by music stakeholders to persuade the organisers to call-off the event due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic was not successful.

One of the organisers, told Daily Trust that Pereama insisted that he would be crowned King of Ijaw music on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 in Yenagoa, saying he does not need the approval of those he described as enemies of progress to stop him.

It was learnt that his insistence on coronation to hold is not unconnected to his alleged desire to take over from late King Robert Ebizimor, who was until his death, the King of the Ijaw music industry.

The musician could not be reached for comment as his protocol personnel guarded him to a waiting vehicle after the coronation.
