The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, says Plateau State has now become the epicentre of COVID-19 infection. It noted that case spike has shifted from Lagos, Kano, Ogun and Oyo to Plateau State. The PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this during the PTF media briefing in Abuja on Thursday. A new study conducted in the United Kingdom has revealed that COVID-19 worsened the condition of patients with eating disorders. The study conducted by researchers in the Department of Psychology, Northumbria University, Newcastle and published in the online edition of Journal of Eating Disorders, revealed that COVID-19 negatively affected nine out of 10 people with eating disorders According to the study, disruptions to daily life as a result of lockdown and social distancing may have a detrimental impact on an individual’s wellbeing, with almost nine out of ten (87 per cent) of participants reporting that their symptoms had worsened as a result of the pandemic while over 30 per cent of participants stated that their symptoms were much worse.
