The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria has vowed to prosecute online pharmacies and unlicensed e-commerce site selling drugs in the country. In its monthly circular made available to PUNCH HealthWise, the PCN said that it was shocked by the chaotic and uncontrolled drug system online, adding that it will prosecute any pharmaceutical outfit that fails to meet its registration deadline. “Notice is hereby given to everyone who is engaged in the sales and promotion of medicines online to visit their PCN State offices to register online pharmacies before August 31, 2020. “Please note that the minimum requirement for an online pharmacy is its direct affiliation to a registered physical brick and mortar pharmacy. Healthcare Intervention Gulps N26.28bn –CBN

About 20 projects valued at N26.28bn have been funded under the N100bn Central Bank of Nigeria credit support intervention for the healthcare industry, the Governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, said on Monday. The CBN also said it had received over 27 proposals from researchers requesting for N67bn grant. Emefiele said this in Abuja during the inauguration of the Board of Experts of the Healthcare Sector Research and Development Intervention Scheme.
